From Green Promise
to green action
AM/NS India has become the first integrated steel producer in India to receive the Green Steel Certification under the Ministry of Steel's Green Steel Taxonomy, achieving a 4-star rating for its Hot Rolled Coils and a 3-star rating for both its Heavy Plates and Cold Rolled Coils (including GI products).
Request Certified Green SteelThis milestone marks a significant step in our journey, translating our ‘Green Promise’ into tangible ‘Green Action’ as we lead the way in India’s sustainable steel production.
What Is Green Steel Taxonomy?
The Ministry of Steel officially notified the "Green Steel Taxonomy," defining benchmarks for low-carbon steel production in India. This framework established carbon emission intensity threshold of 2.2 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of finished steel (tCO2e/tfs).
